Report: Spurs have shown interest in 30-year-old ‘in last few hours’

AS Roma Live have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have made advances towards signing Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech over recent hours.

The speculation linking Zieych with a move to Spurs has intensified over the last week and a half, with Jeunes Footeux being the first to report on April 1 that the North London club had reached out to the winger regarding a summer transfer.

The publication added that the Moroccan was desperate to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer and was even prepared to take a pay cut in order to seal a transfer.

Tottenham’s interest in Ziyech was subsequently backed up by Football Insider, who claimed on April 9 that Chelsea had slashed the 30-year-old’s asking price to just £20m.

The report added that the Lilywhites could face competition from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, West Ham and Fulham for the attacker.

AS Roma Live have now named Spurs and PSG as contenders for Ziyech’s signature and asserted that the player is also of interest to Roma.

The report states that Tottenham have ‘launched signals of appreciation’ for the Chelsea star over the ‘last few hours’ as some at the North London club are not fully convinced by Dejan Kulusevski.

The publication claims that the Blues would be willing to accept an offer of £18m for Ziyech.

Kulusevski has not been able to live up to the high standards he set for himself last season and I wonder if that could be down to the fitness issues that he has had over the course of the campaign.

The Swede could certainly do with some competition for his place in the side but I would personally prefer to see Bryan Gil providing that competition rather than us signing Ziyech.
