Report: Spurs have spoken to the representatives of £64m-rated attacker

Brazilian outlet UOL have reported that Tottenham Hotspur have met with the entourage of Porto winger Pepe about a potential summer transfer.

Pepe has progressed impressively since swapping Brazilian club Gremio for Porto back in 2021, with the wide-man finishing the 2022-23 campaign with five goals and ten assists across all competitors (Transfermarkt).

We relayed a report from A Bola a couple of days ago which claimed that Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain had both expressed an interest in the Brazilian.

Tottenham have held meeting with Pepe’s agents

UOL have now backed up the interest of both Spurs and the Parisians in Pepe and assert that Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal are also keeping a close eye on the player’s situation.

The report reveals that Pepe’s representatives have held meetings with all three of the aforementioned clubs and are now set to hold discussions with the Porto hierarchy regarding the winger’s future.

It is alleged that the Portuguese club would not be willing to let the 26-year-old leave unless his €75m (£64.1m) release clause is met.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Tottenham are in need of wide players after the departure of Lucas Moura and Arnaut Danjuma but there is simply no value for money in paying anywhere close £60m for Pepe when Spurs can get a Premier League-proven player like Harvey Barnes for a considerably lower price.
