Report: Spurs have ‘tested the waters’ with 21-year-old’s agent

According to a report in Corriere Fiorentino (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs to contact Dusan Vlahovic’s agent about signing the Fiorentina striker in the summer

Vlahovic has been in lethal form for Fiorentina this season, having notched up 13 goals in the Serie A so far.

It was reported last month that Spurs had identified the Serbian as an alternative to Carlos Vinicius, who the North Londoners have the option to sign permanently at the end of the season.

TEAMtalk revealed last month that Spurs have been impressed by the 21-year-old’s displays and have identified him as a potential back up to Harry Kane.

Corriere Fiorentino now claim that Tottenham are one of a whole host of clubs to test the water with Vlahovic’s agents, with the likes of Arsenal, Milan, AS Roma, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Atlético Madrid also doing the same.

The report reveals that Fiorentina hope to tie the striker down to the new contract but it would not be easy for the club to hold on to him.

It is asserted that the Viola would demand a fee close to €50m (£43m) if they do decide to sell Vlahovic.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Vlahovic has been excellent this season, there is always an element of risk associated with buying young players who have not been tested in the Premier League. Besides, I cannot really see Spurs spending €50m on any one player this summer, let alone someone who would be a back up to Kane.
