Report: Spurs have told European giants to forget about signing 20-year-old

The Daily Star claims that Tottenham Hotspur have made it clear to clubs that they will not be entertaining any offers for Ryan Sessegnon this summer.

The report reveals that Barcelona have enquired about the availability of Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Evening Standard also reported last week that the Catalan giants made an approach for the out of favour Spurs pair.

Sessegnon is yet to play a single minute since the restart and has been left out of the matchday squad entirely for multiple games.

However, The Daily Star suggests that Tottenham have told Barcelona that the 20-year-old is not for sale this summer.

It is claimed that, while the North Londoners could part ways with Ndombele, they intend to hold on to the England Under-21 international.

A Spurs insider is quoted in the report as saying: “Barcelona have been told to forget about signing Sessegnon. His future is definitely with this club.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Sessegnon breaking into the side either at left-back, given the defensive requirements of the role in our current system, or at left or right-wing, given the competition for places in the positions. I personally believe a loan move to a Premier League side would be ideal for both the youngster and Tottenham. He must play regularly in order to keep developing as a footballer as the 20-year-old is still quite raw.
