Olusesi, who has made his way through the age group ranks at Spurs, played 14 times for the club’s Under-18s this season, scoring three times while also featuring for the Under-19s on two occasions in the UEFA Youth League.

The 16-year-old played a key role in helping Spurs complete a Premier League Cup double at both Under-17s and Under-18s levels this season.

Football Insider asserted that the midfielder’s displays for the youth teams had brought him to the attention of Manchester United, Newcastle United, Leeds United and Brighton, who all expressed an interest in the youngster.

The report stated that Tottenham were aware of the mounting interest in Olusesi and were battling to tie him down to ward off attention from the aforementioned clubs.

It was alleged that the North London club had offered the teenager a scholarship that would then be converted into a pro deal at the earliest opportunity, which would be at the age of 17.

Spurs Web Opinion

The likes of Brighton and Leeds may look to convince Spurs youngsters that there is a more realistic pathway to the first team at the Amex and Elland Road respectively.

It is up to the Spurs hierarchy to persuade starlets that their development would be best served by remaining at Tottenham.
