Report: Spurs hold interest in 19-year-old full-back with release clause in January

InterLive.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Valencia left-back Jesus Vazquez.

Vazquez, who has been at Valencia since the age of five, broke into the club’s first team last season. The 19-year-old, who remains behind Jose Gaya in the pecking order, has made four appearances in La Liga so far this season (Transfermarkt).

InterLive report that the teenager, who has featured eight times for Spain’s Under-19s, is on the radar of several European clubs. The report primarily covers Inter’s interest in Vazquez but explains that Nerazzurri’s biggest competitor for the youngster could be Tottenham.

Fabio Paratici is alleged to have an eye on the Valencia starlet, who has a release clause in his contract that would become active in January.

The report states that even though Spurs signed Destiny Udogie last summer, a move for Vazquez cannot be ruled out, given that Ivan Perisic is in the twilight of his career.

Inter Live add that another Serie A club in the form of Torino are also monitoring the Spanish full-back.

Spurs Web Opinion

While we are well stocked in the left wing-back department, Paratici might be eyeing Vazquez as an investment for the future. Perhaps the Spurs managing director of football is considering another Udogie-type deal whereby Vazquez is signed and loaned out to a club where he can continue his development.
