Report: Spurs hold talks with Corinthians over £8.5m starlet

The Sun have reported that Tottenham have already held talks with Corinthians over a possible deal for the club’s starlet, Rodrigo Varanda.

It is claimed that Spurs have sent scouts to watch the 18-year-old attacker and have been left suitably impressed with his performances.

The report says that the two clubs are already in talks over a transfer this summer, with a price of around £8.5m said to be on the table.

Unfortunately for Corinthians, Varanda is out of contract in January 2022, meaning that the club are under pressure to either sign him to a new deal or sell up.

Although he has mainly played on the right-wing this season, Varanda can play on either side or down the middle, much like Lucas Moura or Heung-min Son.

It is said that the move for Varanda does not depend on a new manager coming into Tottenham, with the transfer being in the pipeline no matter who succeeds Mourinho.
