Report: Spurs holding out Reguilon hope over potential future Madrid approach

Tottenham Hotspur are reported to be hoping that Sergio Reguilón falls in love with the North London club and rejects a future approach from Real Madrid.

Madrid inserted a transfer buy-back clause into the agreement which saw the Spaniard move to Spurs which can see them look to take the left-sided player back to Madrid in either the summer of 2021 or 2022 at a £15million profit.

Football.London claim that Spurs were initially not looking to sign a new left-back this summer but were unable to ignore the opportunity to sign the Spanish international who impressed on loan at Sevilla last season.

Reguilon found himself behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in the pecking order at the Bernabeu and there is hope that he would spurn the opportunity to return to the Spanish capital in the near future.

The 23-year-old has impressed in his early outings for Tottenham with the former Real man displaying his electric pace and his desire to attack as well as defend.
