Report: Spurs hope player with troublesome groin can start vs West Ham

The Evening Standard have claimed that Spurs hope that Giovani Lo Celso can start against West Ham United tomorrow night and continue to monitor his progress.

Lo Celso was not fit enough to start Tottenham’s first game back against Manchester United on Friday but the midfielder did come on from the bench in the second half for a cameo.

Jose Mourinho indicated that he was hopeful that the Argentine would be fit for the clash against the Hammers (Football.London).

However, The Evening Standard have reported that the jury is still out on whether the 23-year-old will be fit to start on Tuesday.

Lo Celso’s groin is said to be giving the midfielder some trouble, with the club continuing to assess the injury ahead of the London derby.

However, the report does confirm that Lucas Moura has regained his fitness and will be available for selection.

Dele Alli will also be available for the match, having served his one-match suspension against United.

Even if Lo Celso is fit, I suspect Jose might once against go with a midfield pairing of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko. I also expect Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn to keep their places in the side ahead of the returning Alli and Moura.

The only reason that might change is if Jose and his coaching staff decide that the team needs some fresh legs against West Ham after the players’ exertions on Friday.
