Report: Spurs hopeful some players can resume training in next 48 hours

The Daily Mail have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are hopeful they can recommence first-team training within the next few days.

The first-team area at Hotspur Way has been shut down following an outbreak of COVID-19 at the club over the last week.

Spurs’ Europa Conference League clash against Rennes and their Premier League clash against Brighton were both called off, with the club’s match against Leicester on December 16 also reportedly in doubt.

Football.London have claimed that Spurs are waiting for the results of another round of testing conducted over the weekend before making a decision on when to open the first-team section of Hotspur Way.

The report stated that the number of cases at the club is now ‘heading in the right direction.

If the Mail’s latest update is to be believed, the players could be back at the training ground sooner than expected.

It is explained that if the next round of COVID tests yield promising results, some Spurs stars could return to training at Hotspur Way within the next 48 hours.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even if the results are promising in the next round of testing, the club will be ultra-cautious and not want to risk further spread in case of potential false negatives. So, I do not expect them to open the first-team section at Hotspur Way for a good few days.
