Report: Spurs hopeful that player who left on loan still has a future at the club

According to The Evening Standard, there are still hopes at Tottenham that Bryan Gil has a future at the club.

Gil was one of three first-team players to complete loan moves away from Tottenham on transfer deadline day, along with Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

The 20-year-old signed for Valencia until the end of the season, marking a returning to La Liga just six months on from his move from Sevilla during the summer.

The youngster did not make a single Premier League start for the Lilywhites under either Nuno Espirito Santo or Antonio Conte, and will be hoping to get more game time at the Mestalla to give himself the best chance of making Spain’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar.

The Evening Standard has claimed that Tottenham expect the Spaniard to return to the club at the end of the season.

Gil’s loan move to Valencia is a good one for all parties involved. The last thing that Spurs needed was for the youngster’s confidence to be dented by a continued spell warming the bench. He needs regular minutes under his belt in order to continue his development.
