Report: Spurs hoping to land 16-year-old League One striker starlet

Tottenham Hotspur have a crisis up front at the moment with the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son out injured for the long-term in North London.

No Spurs players were able to score against either RB Leipzig or Chelsea in the past week, with Tottenham’s strike against the latter coming via an own goal deflection.

After selling Vincent Janssen in the summer and letting Fernando Llorente leave on a free, Spurs have been left with no natural options since the Kane injury.

Even their chief goal scorer in the absence of a striker, Heung Min Son, fractured his arm against Aston Villa earlier this month.

Mourinho seems unwilling to put his faith in young Troy Parrott, who is just 18, but Tottenham may be looking to add yet another promising teenager to their academy ranks.

The Sun (23/02/20 pg 63) claim that Spurs are hoping to sign 16-year-old Sunderland striker, Joe Hugill, with Manchester United and Liverpool also keen.

Spurs Web Opinion:

You can never knock signing a promising youngster for next to nothing, but Spurs need a senior striker in the summer too.
