Report: Spurs identify 21-year-old as potential Ndombele replacement

According to Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Bordeaux midfielder Yacine Adli if Tanguy Ndombele leaves the club before the end of the month.

Ndombele has failed to make Tottenham’s matchday squad in any of Nuno Espirito Santo’s first three competitive games in charge and reports indicate that the midfielder has asked to leave the club.

Fabio Paratici has allegedly entered into discussions with Juventus, Bayern Munich and Lyon over using Ndombele in a swap deal for Weston McKennie, Corentin Tolisso and Houssem Aourar respectively.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will be able to offload Ndombele in the week that is left until the window slams shut.

Foot Mercato have now claimed that if the North Londoners do manage to shift the Frenchman, they could look to replace him with Adli.

Adli, a Paris Saint-Germain academy product, has come on leaps and bounds since his move to Bordeaux in 2019. The youngster has represented France in all age groups from Under-16s through to the Under-23s.

Foot Mercato claim that Spurs have already made contact with Adli’s representatives over a potential transfer.

This seems to be independent of our pursuit of Pape Matar Sarr, who now looks close to joining. I do not see us managing to find a buyer for Ndombele in the current financial climate unless the 24-year-old agrees to take a wage cut.
