Report: Spurs identify 22-year-old as Vlahovic alternative ahead of January

Eurosport have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak as a potential alternative to Dusan Vlahovic.

Over the last few weeks, Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for Vlahovic but over recent days, it has emerged that the striker may prefer to remain in the Serie A rather than moving to the Premier League.

Eurosport have now backed up that claim, revealing that the likes of Spurs are expecting Juventus to win the race for the Serbian international.

It is said that Tottenham and other English clubs could hence turn their attention to Isak instead.

The 22-year-old has been prolific for Sociedad during the last two seasons but has failed to hit the same heights so far this campaign, with just six goals in all competitions from 16 matches.

However, if Eurosport are to be believed, that has not stopped the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal from pursuing the Swedish international.

The report adds that Isak is keen on a move to the Premier League and wants to play regular first-team football, thus making Arsenal ‘an interesting option’ for him.

Isak could be a superb signing if we can pull it off but at 22 years of age, the striker will likely want guaranteed first-team football to continue his development. That would give Arsenal an advantage over us as the Swede is unlikely to start ahead of either Kane or Son.
