Report: Spurs identify two Bundesliga strikers as potential Kane replacements

According to a report from Sport Bild, Tottenham Hotspur have identified Stuttgart striker, Sasa Kalajdzic, and Wolfsburg striker, Wout Weghorst, as potential replacements for Harry Kane.

Weghorst was linked with a move to Spurs last summer but the North London club decided to sign Benfica’s Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan deal instead.

The Netherlands international scored 25 goals and registered 9 assists in all competitions for Wolfsberg last campaign.

Meanwhile, Kalajdzic, who netted 16 goals and registering 6 assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season, was also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar back in April

Sport Bild have now claimed that Spurs are continuing to monitor both players due to the uncertainty surrounding Kane’s future.

However, the report adds that neither Weghorst nor Kalajdzic have a release clause in their contracts.  It is revealed that Stuttgart will not let the Austrian international leave for less than €30m (£25.7m).

Spurs Web Opinion

If we do lose Kane, we will have to bring in two or three new attackers to replace the 27-year-old’s output. With Fabio Paratici now on board, I would not be surprised if we look to the Italian market for the likes of Dusan Vlahovic and Andrea Belotti. There could potentially be some good deals to be had this summer since several Serie A clubs are struggling financially.
