Report: Spurs in advanced talks for £34m player – Expected to be finalised soon

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to pay £34m for Everton, Everton Soares that is. This comes as Jose Mourinho looks ahead to his first signing as Spurs manager.

Don Balon have reported that Tottenham are in ‘very advanced negotiations’ for the Brazilian to switch Gremio for North London.

This comes after some impressive performances for both his club and the Brazil national side in recent times. Transfer Markt claim the attacker has scored 15 and set up seven in 2019 alone, playing 41 matches.

The report from Don Balon claims that multiple teams were interested in the player back in the summer, but they failed to find a buyer to match the £34m price tag.

It is unclear how much Tottenham would now be paying for the player if a deal does go through, but that initial price tag may look more appealing after Everton’s 2019 form.

The Spurs squad needs freshening up, with Alderweireld, Vertonghen, and Eriksen potentially leaving on free transfers in the summer.
