Report: Spurs in ‘driving seat’ to sign 25-year-old after ‘concrete talks’

According to a report from Danish publication BT (as translated by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the driving seat for Joachim Andersen’s signature.

Spurs have unsurprisingly been linked with several centre-backs on the back of their defensive struggles last season.

While the likes of Jannik Vestergaard, Nikola Milenkovic and Lewis Dunk are rumoured to be of interest to Spurs, it is Andersen’s name that has cropped up the most often over the last few months as the club’s number one target.

The Atheltic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke revealed on The View From The Lane podcast last month that Andersen was keen on a move to Spurs while Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has also baked the North Londoners to compete for the 25-year-old’ signature this summer.

BT now claim that Andersen is ‘almost certain’ to join a Premier League club this summer and that Tottenham are currently in the driving seat for his signature.

The report adds that Spurs are now in concrete talks with Lyon about the centre-back after Andersen’s representatives met with Tottenham chiefs back in April.

It is asserted that the Lilywhites’ managerial situation is not likely to have an impact on their pursuit of the Denmark international.
