Report: Spurs in four-horse race to sign £50m-rated England international

The Mirror have reported that Tottenham are now in a four-horse race for the signing of Brighton defender, Ben White this summer.

The report claims that the centre-back is currently rated at around £50m after enjoying quite the week in Gareth Southgate’s England camp.

White was originally named on the backup list for England’s Euro 2020 squad after the numbers were cut down to 26. However, after the injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold, White was called up to the main squad.

It seemed as though the Brighton man had impressed Southgate with his cameo against Austria and his sturdy display at the back when starting against Romania in England’s warm-up games.

The Mirror now report that Tottenham, Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool are all interested in the young defender. The report adds that there could be ‘an almighty scramble’ for the centre-back this summer.

White is an extremely versatile player, having experience at centre-back, right of a back three, right-back and even central midfield.
