Report: Spurs in ‘front row’ to sign World Cup finalist ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool

The print edition of Corriere dello Sport (21/12/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are the frontrunners for Adrien Rabiot’s signature.

Rabiot was one of Juve’s most consistent performers in the first part of the 2022-23 campaign and the midfielder maintained that form during the World Cup.

CMW.it reported last week that Antonio Conte was keen on bringing the Frenchman to Spurs in January and that the North London club were prepared to offer the 27-year-old a contract worth €8m (£6.8m) to convince him to make the move.

Corriere have now claimed that Spurs are in the ‘front row’ to sign Rabiot ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also registered their interest in the France international.

It is explained that Massimiliano Allegri does not want to lose Rabiot in January, even if it means the player leaves on a free next summer.

However, the Juve hierarchy are allegedly open to cashing in on the midfielder and would consider an offer of around €10-€15m (£8.7m-£13.1m).

Spurs Web Opinion

I find it quite surprising that Tottenham are being linked with so many central midfielders like Sofyan Amrabt, Alexis Mac Allister and now Rabiot despite the fact that Conte has four decent options at his disposal. I wonder if that is a sign that Spurs are considering loaning out Oliver Skipp along with Pape Matar Sarr.
