Report: Spurs in talks with 31-year-old’s agent about a potential summer move

Tottenham Hotspur’s rumoured pursuit of Ivan Perisic is still alive, according to the latest reports from Italy, with the North Londoners currently said to be in talks with the Inter Milan star’s agent.

German outlet Fussball Transfers reported last week that Bayern Munich did not wish to exercise the £18million permanent clause when Perisic’s loan deal at the Allianz arena comes to end.

It was said that the Bundesliga giants wanted to complete the deal for around £9m, which in turn, opened the door for Spurs to swoop in for the Croatian international.

FC Inter News now reveal that Bayern’s permanent option has expired and that the club will now have to negotiate a transfer fee with Inter if they hope to sign the experienced wide man.

However, the Bavarians have reportedly assured Perisic of their intention to sign him, despite not exercising the permanent option.

The report suggests that Spurs are also following the 31-year-old’s situation, with Jose Mourinho said to be an admirer of the World Cup finalist.

Therefore, it is claimed that Perisic could find himself moving to North London if Bayern are not able to reach an agreement with the Nerazzuri.

Spurs Web Opinion

Perisic is the kind of player Jose Mourinho usually goes for, as not only could he prove a valuable squad option but he will also possess a winning mentality. However, I believe Ryan Fraser and Willian will both be preferable options over Perisic given the fact that they will be free agents and are already proven in the Premier League.
