Report: Spurs in talks with Serie A club about Joe Rodon loan without option to buy

As reported by SampNews24, talks have been held between Tottenham and Sampdoria for the loan of defender Joe Rodon.

Rodon joined Spurs in 2020, completing a £10.89 million move from Championship side Swansea City (Transfermarkt).

The 24-year-old has struggled to play his way into the side during his stint in North London thus far, making just 24 appearances for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).

Rodon’s time at Spurs has been plagued by injuries, just recently missing out on his side’s pre-season tour of South Korea due to a last-minute illness (Football.London).

The Welshman’s inability to break into Antonio Conte’s back three has resulted in him being linked with a move away from N17 this summer. Both Nottingham Forest and Everton have been credited with an interest in the centre-back (TalkSport).

Transfer specialist Gianluca DiMarzio has recently reported that Fabio Paratici has travelled to Italy to discuss Rodon’s future.

The SampNews24 reveals that although there has been no response from Rodon himself as of yet, the two clubs are in talks over a potential loan without an option to buy.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am a fan of Joe’s and I think that he could prove his worth if he gets to leave the club on loan this summer, as long as injuries don’t come back to haunt him. Whether he has a future at Spurs, it will be essential for his development to play more games this season.
