Report: Spurs in the final stages of negotiations for long-term transfer target

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a £30million deal for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

The Daily Mail claim that negotiations between Spurs and Fulham are in the final stages and a fee is close to being agreed for the England Under 21 international.

Fulham, who were relegated from the Premier League last season kick off their Championship campaign against Barnsley today with the left sides player expected to miss out with a hamstring problem (The Sun).

The 19-year-old who is out of contract at Craven Cottage next summer has already made it clear to Fulham that he wants to make the switch to Mauricio Pochettino’s side ahead of the transfer window closing at 5pm on Thursday.

Spurs are said to have given their transfer efforts an increased impetues following Pochettino’s recent outburst when he claimed that he was not in charge of the club’s transfers after the recent period of inactivity.

The arrival of Sessegnon for around £30million would represent good business for a player who is regarded as one of the brightest talents in English football.

It is certainly going to be a busy few days for Spurs fans as the rumour mill kicks into gear.
