Report: Spurs in three-way fight for 20 goal and 22 assist man

Tottenham Hotspur take on Ajax on Wednesday in the biggest game of the club’s recent history, as they fight for a spot in the prestigious Champions League final.

Spurs go into the game one away goal down after a poor showing at home last week, but still with a real chance of progressing.

However, it is likely that the two clubs will see plenty more of each other through the summer, if reports are to be believed.

Calcio Mercato have reported this week that Tottenham are in a three-way race with Bayern Munich and Inter Milan for the signature of Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech.

The 26-year-old has been in incredible form in both the Dutch domestic League and the Champions League this season, scoring 20 goals and setting up 22 more in all competitions.

He was also a vital cog in the machine that beat both Real Madrid and Juventus over two legs in Europe, scoring home and away against Los Blancos.

The Daily Mail claim that Ziyech will fetch around £40m this summer, a bargain price for a player with the stats and form he has shown off this campaign.

This comes after Spurs have also been linked to Ajax midfielder Donny Van de Beek (Mirror).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Surely, few Spurs fans would argue with this signing for £40m in today’s market. Ziyech has looked a real menace, particularly against the big sides in Europe, this season. Not only would Spurs be buying goals and assists, but also a player who clearly has the ability to show up in the huge ties.
