Report: Spurs in two horse race with Juventus for PSG star

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has said the club will look to rebuild the squad in the summer (Evening Standard), which seems to indicate that there are likely to be a lot of incomings as well as outgoings at Spurs.

Midfield is one of the areas where the club needs reinforcements, and Adrien Rabiot is among the players who is said to be interesting the club.

Spurs have yet to replace Mousa Dembele, one of Pochettino’s first choice midfielders over the past five years, since his move away to China in January.

Tottenham have also had some success with purchasing players from the French club in the recent past, including Lucas Moura and Serge Aurier.

Rabiot has had a difficult season after having been frozen out of the first-team picture at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old’s contract with the club expires at the end of the season, at which point he will be available on a free.

According to a report in Calcio Mercato, Tottenham are now set to go head to head with Serie A giants Juventus in a two-horse summer race for Rabiot’s signature.

Rabiot is clearly talented, but there are question marks over his discipline off the pitch.

However, there is no doubt that the 24-year-old will be the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele who departed in January, as his game is quite similar to the Belgian’s.

The PSG star will certainly improve the team and as long as Pochettino doesn’t have doubts over his attitude, Rabiot will be a steal on a free transfer.
