Report: Spurs ‘increasingly confident’ of signing world-class talent

It looks like Tottenham Hotspur are set to have an extremely busy deadline day. Reports over the last few hours suggest that Tottenham are confident of completing deals for Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso before the 5 pm deadline (The Telegraph).

One other player Spurs are said to be chasing is Juventus forward Paulo Dybala. Throughout yesterday reports indicated that while the Lilywhites were doing all they can to sign the 25-year-old, a deal was looking unlikely due to complications with the player’s image rights, which is owned by a third party (The Independent).

However, there seems to have been positive developments in the deal this morning as multiple sources including The Mirror and The BBC suggest that the Lilywhites are growing increasingly confident of getting a deal for Dybala over the line.

The Argentine, who has been one of the Serie A’s most feared forwards of recent years, didn’t have the best of seasons last term. A move to North London could help his reignite his career.

As difficult as it may be, it is important not to get carried away as this deal looks like one that could collapse later on in the day.

If Spurs do manage to get this one over the line, then they should be expected to push Manchester City and Liverpool all the way in the race for the title,
