Report: Spurs interested in £21m-rated player said to be nearing exit at Serie A club

Tottenham are said to be interested in Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout, who is reportedly ready to leave the Serie A club, according to Roma Today.

Veretout has dropped out of the starting eleven under former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho following the arrival of Sergio Oliveira last month, having been a regular fixture in the side last term.

Spurs monitored the Frenchman’s situation last month (Il Messaggero) as part of a move to strengthen the options at Antonio Conte’s disposal, but a transfer ultimately never came to fruition.

But Roma Today suggests that Veretout could be heading on the way out this summer, with the club now open to listening for offers.

The report states that Tottenham, alongside Newcastle, are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old who has been valued by the Giallorossi at no less than €25 million (£21m).

Despite falling by the wayside in the Roma fold, Veretout has still made 33 appearances in all competitions, registering four goals and nine assists in the process (Transfermarkt).

Veretout could be a decent pick up for any club considering he has been fairly productive from midfield. Spurs should be active in the summer and are likely going to continue reshaping the midfield, so it will be interesting to see if they make an approach in the coming months.
