Report: Spurs interested in Bundesliga striker who has outscored Haaland

According to a report from 90 min, Tottenham Hotspur are one of several English clubs interested in Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick.

Schick impressed at the European Championship with the Czech Republic in the summer, finishing as the tournament’s joint-highest goalscorer.

The centre-forward has now taken that form into club level and has been on fire in front of goal for Leverkusen so far this campaign.

Schick current sits second in the race for the Bundesliga Golden Boot with 16 goals, behind just Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski, who has 19 strikes to his name this campaign and above Erling Haaland on 13.

90 min now claim the Czech striker is attracting interest from a whole host of English clubs, including Spurs.

The report reveals that Tottenham, Manchester City, West Ham, Everton and Arsenal have all sent scouts to Germany this season to watch Schick in action.

However, it is explained that Leverkusen have no intention of letting the striker leave in January as that would be detrimental for their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

It is asserted that the Bundesliga club value Schick well in excess of £50m.

Spurs Web Opinion

Schick would be an excellent understudy to Kane. Given his physical presence and aerial prowess, he would also be a very good ‘plan B’ to have on the bench if we are chasing games.

The 25-year-old seems like a much more realistic target than Dusan Vlahovic but I suspect the Czech international would want guaranteed first-team football, which he is unlikely to get at Spurs.
