Report: Spurs interested in Italy international who will be free agent this summer

The print edition of Tuttosport (28/03/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness) has reported that Tottenham hold an interest in Torino striker Andrea Belotti ahead of the summer transfer window.

Belotti has been one of the most consistent centre-forwards in Italy over the last seven seasons despite not playing for one of the giants of Serie A.

However, the Torino captain is currently having his worse season since his move to Turin, having found the back of the net on just four occasions in 15 Serie A appearances this year (Transfermarkt).

The 28-year-old is expected to leave when his contract runs out in the summer but TuttoSport claim the striker will have to be ‘realistic’ about his next move, given his poor form this season.

It is suggested the biggest teams in Italy no longer want Belotti and the centre-forward could thus be bound for the Premier League.

The report claims that Antonio Conte could look to bring him to Spurs, with the 52-year-old rating the striker highly. If the North London club do not make an approach for Belotti, it is said that he might have to settle for a move to a mid-table Premier League side.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be more than happy to have Belotti at Spurs if he is willing to be Kane’s backup. The 28-year-old possess the attributes to do well in the Premier League and I believe he will be a useful squad player for us. However, he might want to play regular football, given that he is theoretically coming into the peak years of his career.
