Report: Spurs interested in signing £21.3m striker as long-term Kane successor

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Stuttgart forward Sasa Kalajdzic, according to the German news outlet Stuttgart Nachrichten.

The Austrian international has one year to run on his contract at the Bundesliga outfit and is said to have been identified by the North Londoners as a potential long-term successor to Harry Kane – who the club want to build up over time.

The 24-year-old is said to fit the profile of what Spurs are looking for in a forward with Antonio Conte keen on bolstering his attacking options.

Stuttgart are yet to receive an offer from Tottenham and value the marksman in the region of at least €25m (£21.3m).

Kalajdzic scored six goals in fifteen Bundesliga matches last season, having missed a large chunk of the campaign with a shoulder injury (transfermarkt).

Tottenham will have to look to bring in someone of Kalajdzic’s current ability compared to a proven top European forward given the fact that many are reluctant to make the move since they know they would only get limited game time behind Kane.

With Spurs looking to compete on four fronts next season, if the likes of Dane Scarlett and Troy Parrott are to be loaned out, they need someone to feature in domestic cup competitions to keep Kane fresh for the Premier League and Champions League.
