Report: Spurs involved in a four-horse race for 22-year-old left-back

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs vying for Watford full-back Pervis Estupinan, according to a report in Spanish publication Sport.

Although Estupinan arrived at Watford in 2016, he is yet to play a single competitive game for the Hornets, having spent the last four seasons on loan at Granada, Almería, Mallorca and Osasuna.

The Ecuadorian international has been in excellent form this campaign on loan at La Liga outfit Osasuna and his performances have reportedly alerted a number of European clubs.

Sport claim that Barcelona want to sign the 22-year-old this summer but that they face competition from Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.

The report reveals that Tottenham have already made an enquiry over his availability. It is said that Estupinan is not a priority for Barcelona this summer and the Catalan giants are yet to decide on whether to make an offer for him.

The report also claims that Osasuna are also interested in extending the defender’s stay at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

We seem to be linked with every full-back who is available this summer and I suspect a lot of it is just baseless speculation. I don’t believe left-back is as big a priority for us as other positions with the likes of Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga all capable of playing in the position.
