Report: Spurs involved in a three-horse race for striker in January

According to a report by AS, Atletico Madrid are set to challenge Tottenham Hotspur in their pursuit of Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik in January.

The 26-year-old was reportedly on Tottenham’s radar during the previous transfer window (Football.London) but the club decided move for Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica instead.

Meanwhile, Milik has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Napoli after failing to sign a new deal with the striker said to be intent on leaving the club next month (Gianluca Di Marzio).

Despite landing Vinicius in the previous transfer window, Tottenham have been backed to return for the Polish international’s services next month (Tuttomercatoweb) while Carlo Ancelotti is also reportedly keen on bringing the striker to Everton (The Sun).

While AS mentions Spurs and Everton as ‘options’ for Milik, they reveal that Atletico will also try to tempt him to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The report reveals that the La Liga club are hopeful of agreeing on a cut-price deal for the striker, who only has six months left to run on his contract at the Serie A side.
