Report: Spurs join the race for Turkish full-back wanted by Arsenal

Fenerbache full-back Ferdi Kadioglu is now wanted by Tottenham Hotspur, but they will have to fight off competition from London rivals Arsenal, and Wolverhampton Wanderers if they are to sign the Turkish star.

Tottenham have got it pretty good in the full-back areas right now, with both Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie excelling under Ange Postecoglou this season.

Beyond those two starters, Spurs are lacking in depth in that full-back position, though. That is particularly evident on the left-hand side, where Ben Davies has now become more of a centre-back, and Ryan Sessegnon continues to struggle with injuries.

With this in mind, it figures that Tottenham are exploring options for players who can compete with Udogie and provide the kind of competition and cover needed for a squad to compete at the top level.

Spurs will battle Arsenal and Wolves for full-back

The latest target to emerge for Spurs is Ferdi Kadioglu, who, according to HITC, is on the shortlist for Spurs, Arsenal, and Wolves ahead of the summer transfer window.

The outlet first named Arsenal as a suitor of Kadioglu back in January, and it seems Spurs are now paying attention to the versatile 24-year-old, who can also play on the right or in the centre of midfield.

Considered one of the “most exciting young talents” in Turkey, Kadioglu is now a “man in high demand” going into the summer.

The player is described as “tactically smart and very comfortable with the ball at his feet” and it is thought these attributes would “appeal” to Postecoglou at Spurs.

Fenerbahce president, Ali Ko, has already admitted he expects Kadioglu to ‘set sail’ at the end of the season and find a new club (HalkTV).

Spurs Web Opinion

We definitely need a new left-back this summer. Udogie is undisputed as our first choice but we need cover there, and Davies and Sessegnon cannot offer that, so we should definitely consider Kadioglu.
