Report: Spurs keen on £17m-rated star who helped to knock Arsenal out of Europe

Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Olympiakos midfielder Mady Camara after he helped the Greek side to knock out Arsenal from the Europa League last week.

After being beaten 1-0 by Mikel Arteta’s side in the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 tie, the Greek sight pulled off an unlikely 2-1 win at the Emirates to progress into the next round after extra time.

While Youssef El-Arabi was Olympiakos’ hero last Thursday owing to his extra-time winner, it was Camara who particularly stood out on the night.

He dominated the likes of Mesut Ozil, Dani Ceballos, and Granit Xhaka in the Arsenal midfield and showcased his brilliant range of passing in the process.

In fact, Page News report that the Lilywhites were so impressed with the 23-year-old’s display last week, that they have decided to make him one of their main targets in the summer.

The report asserts that the Guinea international midfielder could be available for a fee of around £17 million.

If Dier is to be converted into a full-time centre back, then we certainly need a defensive midfielder in the summer, particularly with Victor Wanyama also being let go. While Jose has prefered to play Winks in that role so far, it will be interesting to see if he gives the England midfielder a little bit more freedom once Sissoko returns to injury.
