Report: Spurs keen on Ajax right-back and could make a move this summer

Spurs are interested in Ajax’s Sergino Dest and the Lilywhites could make a move for him this summer, according to Football.London.

Tottenham are actively looking for a right-back this summer and Spurs correspondent, Alasdair Gold believes they ‘certainly like’ Dest and he ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if Spurs made a move for him.

Gold mentioned the interest in Dest when questioned about Tottenham’s attempt to cater for the growing American fan-base.

Previously, Calciomercato reported interest from Spurs in the US international defender.

Dest has made 20 appearances for Ajax this season in the Eredivisie, making 20 appearances and assisting on five occasions. (Transfermarkt)

Since Spurs allowed Kieran Trippier to depart last summer, the right-back spot has very much seemed one of their weak spots with Serge Aurier failing to impress and the club deciding not to bring in a replacement for the England international. (AS)

Spanish outlet, SPORT reported Barcelona also have an interest in the 19-year-old who is reportedly valued by Ajax at around £20million.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dest has nailed the right-back position at Ajax and at the price of just £20million he could be an option for this summer. It will be interesting to see if we consider Max Aarons as a real possibility in the summer transfer window as I’m sure he would be the main target if so.
