Report: Spurs ‘keen’ to speak to 44-year-old following talks with Enrique

90 min have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to talk to Arne Slot regarding their managerial vacancy after speaking with Luis Enrique.

The Telegraph were the first to report a couple of days ago that Spurs were set to have face-to-face talks with Enrique.

The publication explained that the Spaniard has already held discussions with Chelsea about potentially replacing Graham Potter and could now make another trip to London to speak to the Lilywhites.

This information has now also been confirmed by 90 min, who state that Tottenham held ‘positive discussions’ with Enrique’s representatives and now want to sit down in person with the former Barcelona boss.

The report states that Enrique is looking for a swift return to management and is ‘happy’ to talk to Spurs.

It is asserted that Slot could be next on the agenda for the North London club, with the Tottenham hierarchy said to be ‘keen’ to speak to the 44-year-old.

90 min add that Burnley boss Vincent Kompany and Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim are two other names on Spurs’ shortlist of candidates.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Spurs have not had face-to-face talks with Nagelsmann yet is quite curious, especially given that Chelsea have reportedly spoken to the German.

That suggests that the 35-year-old might not have been overly keen on the Tottenham job, which could be why the club are now turning their attention to other candidates.
