Report: Spurs keen to speak with Liverpool legend over vacancy

Tottenham Hotspur are keen to talk to Rangers manager Steven Gerrard about the vacant head coach position at the club, according to the Daily Star.

The North Londoners have been on the search for a new manager after Jose Mourinho was dismissed by Daniel Levy in April with the club in seventh place in the Premier League and having suffered a humiliating exit in the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb.

The report claims that it is unlikely that Gerrard would be prepared to leave the Scottish side at this stage.

The former Liverpool midfielder has just guided the Ibrox outfit to their first Scottish top flight title in ten years in an impressive season which saw them go unbeaten and has already spoken of his desire to deliver further silverware next season (Scottish Sun).

Gerrard is coming off the back of an impressive season north of the border but is still relatively inexperienced as a manger despite his illustrious playing career. It’s more likely that he is prepared to remain at Ibrox and continue to build his reputation until the opportunity arises to replace Jurgen Klopp.
