Report: Spurs keeping tabs on Moroccan midfielder

According to a report in Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are said to be keeping tabs on Club Brugge midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat has been loaned out to Serie A side Hellas Verona for the season and he has put in accomplished performances for the side, featuring in all but one of their league games so far (TBR Football).

His displays have reportedly captured the attentions of Inter Milan and Napoli but it is claimed that the 23-year-old has multiple admirers in England including Spurs.

Tottenham’s opponents this afternoon, West Ham United are also said to be tracking Amarbat closely and might bid for him in the January transfer window.

It is also claimed that Hellas Verona have a £3 million option to buy in place with Brugge for the midfielder and given his form so far, it looks like it will be a no-brainer for the club to exercise it.

The Moroccon international could be subject to a bidding war once Hellas acquire his services as there seems to be quite a bit of interest in him.

Spurs Web Opinion

If this report is true and that Amrabat is being scouted by Spurs, then one wonders how Mourinho will feel about the club’s interest in signing him. Now that the Portuguese is in the job, it is very likely that the club would have reassessed their targets for January based on what the new Spurs boss feels he needs.
