Report: Spurs ‘laying groundwork’ for 10 arrivals and departures in January

Tottenham Hotspur could sanction as many as ten different transfers during the January transfer window, in terms of both incomings and outgoings, according to Football Insider.

As one would expect, the speculation linking Tottenham with various players around Europe has gone into hyperdrive since Conte’s arrival at the start of November.

There have even been reports suggesting that the Italian could be handed a £150m war chest to work with next month.

Conte insisted last week he has not spoken with the club about the money available to spend in January and is more concerned about getting the best out of the players already at his disposal.

However, Football Insider have now claimed that the Spurs boss has already identified positions that need to be strengthened and is pushing for the club to make multiple signings in January.

It is alleged that Spurs are laying the groundwork for an unprecedented January transfer spree, with managing director of football Fabio Paratici thought to be planning for the ‘biggest January window in the club’s history’.

The report adds that there will be some major singings and notable departures next month, including some players leaving on loan.

It is said that that this could bring the number of total transfers the club signs off on into double digits.

Spurs Web Opinion

The only way that Spurs will sign off on ten transfers is if they send at least five different players out on loan, which is a possibility. In terms of incomings, I cannot see us signing more than two players, while I expect a similar number of first-team stars to depart.
