Report: Tottenham have shown most interest in experienced Juventus player

Gazzetta dello Sport have named Tottenham Hotspur as the club who have shown the most interest in former Arsenal goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny.

Szczesny made 194 appearances for Arsenal over six seasons before his switch to Serie A and he has been Juventus’ number one since 2017.

Tottenham’s interest in the Pole came to light a couple of weeks ago when CMW.it claimed that Fabio Paratici was keen on reuniting with the goalkeeper in North London, with the Spurs managing director alleged to be a big fan of the 32-year-old.

However, it remains to be seen whether Paratici is even at Tottenham come the summer, with his 30-month ban now extended to worldwide football (Guardian).

The report added that the Lilywhites were willing to pay around €18m-€20m (£15.7m-£17.5m) for Szczesny, who is set to enter the final year of his contract in Turin this June.

Gazzetta have now reported that the former Gunners number one has ‘several admirers’ ahead of the summer, ‘especially’ Tottenham.

The publication adds that while Szczesny has not indicated to the Juve hierarchy that he wants to leave, a farewell cannot be ruled out this summer.

None of the journalists and publications with good sources high up at Tottenham have indicated that Szczesny is being considered by Spurs as a potential replacement for Lloris’.

The speculation is coming from Italian outlets, which suggests that it might be the player’s entourage who are putting out the information, potentially to strengthen their position while negotiating a new deal with Juve.
