Report: Spurs left ‘shocked’ over asking price for prolific forward who could replace Kane

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to fill the void in attack left following Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich with the summer transfer window set to enter its final stages.

One player who has been linked with a move to North London is Gent’s Gift Orban, with the 21-year-old having already scored six goals in as many matches across all competitions so far this season.

Spurs not prepared to pay asking price for Gent Orban

Belgian news outlet Voetbalkrant have today claimed that a deal for the Nigerian could be some way off with Tottenham having been left ‘shocked’ by Gent’s €30m (£25.5m) valuation of Orban and ‘do not want’ to pay the asking price.

Orban is also coming off the back of a prolific previous campaign by Gent, where he found the back of the net 20 times in 22 appearances having only joined the club in January of this year from Norwegian side Stabaek (transfermarkt).

Considering Spurs have just pocketed £100million for Harry Kane and with Richarlison having struggled in the opening two Premier League matches, it is frustrating that Spurs are not prepared to pay a relatively sensible fee for Orban, who has the potential to become a top player in years to come.
