Report: Spurs legend rushed to hospital after sustaining injury

Paul Gascoigne has been taken to hospital after injuring his shoulder on the Italian version of ‘I’m A Celebrity’, The Evening Standard reports.

Gascoigne enjoys legendary status at Spurs, as well at Newcastle and Rangers, with the midfielder widely considered to be one of the most talented footballers England has ever produced.

Gazza also spent three years plying his trade in Italy after swapping Tottenham for Lazio in 1992 and the midfielder was thus invited to a be a contestant in the Italian version of ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

However, the 53-year-old had some bad luck in the show as he sustained an injury during a trial to earn a treat of spaghetti with meatballs.

The Evening Standard reveals that the challenge required the former Spurs star to grab a ball, wade through a ditch and then go under a cargo net before climbing a platform to score in a basketball hoop.

However, just moments into the trail, the show’s host picked up that something was wrong with Gascoigne, with the camera then panning to the England hero, who was seen holding his shoulder in pain.

Gascoigne was examined by the medical team, who are on stand by, and sent to a medical centre for x-rays and a check-up.

The show’s co-host, Massimiliano Rosolino, reassured viewers that Gazza’s injury was not serious but the British star was reportedly not seen for the remainder of the programme and missed the nominations for Thursday’s episode.
