Report: Spurs-linked attacker is desperate to leave his club in January

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport rumoured Tottenham target Hakim Ziyech is desperate to leave Chelsea in January.

Spurs reportedly made an effort to sign Ziyech during the latter stages of the summer transfer window (The Times) but the winger stayed put at Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old has struggled for game time this season under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter, having made just five Premier League appearances in the first part of 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

Todo Fichajes stated back in September that Spurs are keen on snapping up Ziyech in January and that Antonio Conte’s men are willing to pay £20m for the attacker.

CalcioMercato revealed earlier this month that AC Milan are also interested in the Moroccan international, with the report suggesting that the attacker is in favour of a switch to the San Siro.

If Gazzetta’s latest update is to be believed, Ziyech seems destined to depart the Blues when the transfer window reopens. The publication claims that the former Ajax man is even willing to take a pay cut to seal an exit from the club.

A backup for Kulusevski, who has similar attributes to the Swede, is likely to be a priority for Conte in January. While Ziyech would fit the bill, I doubt the 29-year-old would want to be a bit-part player at Spurs. On the back of his struggles over the last 18 months, he will likely want to join a club where he is guaranteed regular game time.
