CalcioMercato have revealed that Inter Milan are set to push ahead with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram, who has also been mooted as a target for Tottenham over recent weeks.
Thuram’s current contract at Gladbach runs out next summer (Transfermarkt), which is seemingly why the Frenchman appears to be one of the most sought-after players across Europe ahead of the January transfer window.
Gazzetta (17/11/22 via Sport Witness) reported last month that Tottenham were facing competition from the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter and Marseille for the 25-year-old’s signature, while Newcastle United are also set to enter the race for the winger (GiveMeSport).
CalcioMercato now claim that despite Thuram being a ‘highly coveted player’, Inter are ‘convinced’ that their operation to sign the player could prove successful.
The report explains that the Nerazzurri will hold talks with the Gladbach star’s entourage after the World Cup and that the winger views the Serie A as ‘the perfect stage’ for the next phase of his career.

It is not surprising that the likes of Inter are pulling all stops to sign Thuram, given Lukaku’s struggles this season. The might Serie A club’s pursuit of the Frenchman might work to Tottenham’s advantage as they could cash in on either Dumfries or De Vrij to fund a move for the 25-year-old.
