Report: Spurs-linked central defender unsure of Lazio move

Jerome Boateng remains unconvinced about a move to Lazio this summer amid reports that Tottenham Hotspur also hold an interest in the defender.

Boateng became a free agent this summer after a decade at the Bundesliga giants, having originally signed for Bayern in 2011 from Manchester City and has won 21 trophies during his time in Germany, twice securing a league, cup and Champions League treble.

TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Boateng has reservations about a move to Naples due to the fact that they will not be participating in the Champions League next season.

Sky Germany reported in April that Tottenham had held concrete discussions with the central defender over the prospect of a return to England.

SpursWeb Opinion

If Boateng will not move to Lazio due to no Champions League football, it is highly unlikely that he would entertain a move to Spurs given the fact that we will take part in the inaugural Europa Conference League.

If Fabio Paratici could tempt the 32-year-old to North London it would help add the leadership and experience which our backline desperately needs, whilst also not impacting any transfer budget given the fact he is available on a free.
