Report: Spurs-linked centre-back has ‘reached agreement’ with Arsenal

Il Romanista have claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Evan Ndicka has agreed to join Arsenal when his contract at Eintracht Frankfurt runs out next summer.

Evan Ndicka has been a pillar of Frankfurt’s backline since 2018 and Spurs saw his qualities first-hand in their two Champions League clashes with Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this season.

However, the centre-back’s days at the Deutsche Bank Park appear to be numbered, with his current deal running out at the end of the season.

Romagiallorossa.it reported last month that Spurs, AS Roma, AC Milan and Newcastle United were battling it out for the centre-back’s signature ahead of the January transfer window.

Il Romanista have now shed more light on Ndicka’s future while reporting on Roma’s interest in the Frenchman.

The report asserts that the 23-year-old has decided not to renew his contract at the Bundesliga club and to leave on a free next summer.

It is explained that while Ndicka is at the top of Roma’s wishlist, the Gialorrossi are unlikely to win the race for the defender as he has ‘reached an agreement’ to join Arsenal in June.

Ndicka would only be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with non-German clubs from January (owing to his contract situation). So, any agreement with Arsenal is likely to be a verbal one for the time being. That still potentially leaves room for other clubs to perhaps snap up the Frenchman from under the Gunners’ noses.
