Report: Spurs-linked defender receives offer from European club

Beijing Guoan have received an offer from a European club for the defender, Kim Min-jae, according to reports from South Korean outlet Footballist.

This news comes amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur who are interested in signing the 23-year-old this summer, claim The Telegraph.

Jose Mourinho is believed to be determined to solving Tottenham’s defensive problems in the upcoming transfer window and could be looking to replace Jan Vertonghen.

The Belgian veteran is set to leave at the end of the season with his contract running out at the end of the month and no indication of renewal in the works.

Given Heung-min Son’s stature in South Korean football, it is expected he will provide Spurs with a helping hand in trying to persuade the defender to make the switch (The Sunday Mirror (21/06, p72)

Reports coming out of South Korea claim the offer has been received from a Portuguese agent, but negotiations over a potential deal are ‘sluggish’.

With Jose Mourinho in charge of Spurs, could it be Spurs who have made the offer through a Portuguese agent? Possibly, however, only time will tell. If Spurs are truly interested in the defender I am sure the persuasion of Sonny will help push the deal over the line.
