Report: Spurs-linked forward has change of heart over possible January transfer

The Daily Mail have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target, Anthony Martial, has had a change of heart over his future after the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from Manchester United.

Manchester Evening News reported in the summer transfer window that Tottenham had been longtime admirers of Martial and were looking to complete a deal for the French international.

The forward ended up staying at Old Trafford over the summer but he found game time hard to come by under Solskjaer this season.

Ekrem Konnur has claimed that Spurs and Arsenal were both readying offers for the Man Utd attacker in January.

However, The Mail has now revealed that Martial, along with several of United’s other fringe players, have now had a change of heart about leaving the club in January.

The ‘unsettled’ players at the club are now said to be open to delaying decisions on their futures as the Red Devils continue to look for a new manager.

It is explained that Martial, as well as the likes of Donny van de Beek, Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Alex Telles and Diogo Dalot, were ‘increasingly frustrated’ under Solskjaer but the Norwegian’s departure has given them fresh hope.

I think Martial will be a very good fit for Conte’s system as the Italian tends to line up with two or three forwards. However, it is the Frenchman’s attitude that the Spurs boss might have question marks about given his insistence on working hard on and off the ball.
