Report: Spurs-linked forward has now agreed £8m terms with another club

Tottenham are seemingly set to miss out on their rumoured target Lorenzo Insigne, with SportMediaset reporting the Napoli winger is set to join Toronto FC in the summer.

Insigne, who has six months left to run on his contract in Naples, was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar during the previous transfer window.

The North London club have been backed to reignite their interest in the player in January amidst his contract stand-off with Napoli.

It was previously reported that the 30-year-old was unhappy with the salary being offered by the Serie A club and the two parties were thus a long way away from an agreement.

SportMediaset have now revealed that Insigne has reached an agreement over a move to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC in the summer when his contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium runs out.

The report claims the Italian international has agreed on a five-year contract worth €9.5m (£8m) per year with the Canadian club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I was never convinced that Insigne was a genuine target for Spurs despite the heavy links over recent weeks. I believe Conte and Paratici are more likely to prioritise a forward who can play through the middle in January as we currently lack a natural backup for Kane.
