Report: Spurs-linked Franck Kessie holds pre-contract talks with club – No agreement yet

Barcelona have held talks with AC Milan midfielder and reported Tottenham target Franck Kessie about signing a pre-contract agreement for the summer, according to Sky Sports (27/01/22, 10:06 am).

Kessie’s contract with Milan is due to expire in less than six months, meaning he is currently free to discuss signing as a free agent with non-Italian clubs.

The Telegraph reported that Tottenham were interested in completing a deal for the 25-year-old, but a deal would be tricky this month given the Rossoneri’s strong position towards the top of the Serie A table (CalcioMercato).

However, Sky Sports claims Barcelona have entered the frame for Kessie and have started negotiations in an attempt to tie him down to a pre-contract deal for a move in the summer.

The report states that an agreement has not been reached as of yet, after it was suggested by Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari that a deal had already materialised this week.

Spurs’ chase for Kessie seems to be reaching a slow end as a deal is looking tricky to complete. He would definitely improve Spurs in midfield but with Milan in a title race this season, it’s no surprise to see him potentially want to stay despite his contract situation.
