Report claims Real Madrid man linked with Spurs wanted to work with Mourinho previously

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Real Madrid man, James Rodriguez, this week, as Los Blancos look to offload the 28-year-old.

The Colombian burst onto the scene at the 2014 World Cup six years ago, winning the golden boot during that tournament.

However, his Real Madrid career has stalled since the move from Monaco back in 2014. Rodriguez spent the 2017/18 and 2018/19 campaigns on loan at Bayern Munich, while only featuring 13 times for Madrid this season (Wikipedia).

Now Canal RCN claim that Rodriguez will be offered to Spurs in any deal for Harry Kane this summer, as they look to prise away the Lilywhites’ main man.

In the report, Rodriguez is touted as a potential Christian Eriksen replacement, with the Great Dane moving to Inter Milan back in the January window.

An old report from 2018 has now resurfaced, in which it was claimed that James Rodriguez would be happy to play under Jose Mourinho (OK Diario).

This came amidst rumours that the Special One could return to Real Madrid or even bring Rodriguez to Manchester United (Mirror).
